What is a Contact Page?
A Contact Page is a section of a website that provides visitors with information on how to get in touch with the company or organization. It typically contains various methods for communication, such as phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, contact forms, and sometimes links to social media profiles. The purpose of a Contact Us Page is to facilitate communication between visitors and the company, allowing them to ask questions, provide feedback, seek support, or inquire about products and services.
What should a contact page include?
At minimum, a working contact form or email address, and ideally a couple of alternative ways to reach you, such as phone, social, or live chat, so visitors can pick whichever channel they're most comfortable with.
How many fields should a contact form have?
As few as necessary — name, email, and a message field cover most cases. Extra fields like phone number, company size, or budget reduce completion rates, so only add them if your team genuinely needs that information to respond appropriately.
Should a contact page include a physical address or map?
Include one if it builds trust or is genuinely useful, such as for a local business or a company that meets clients in person. For a fully remote or online business, an address can be optional and a support email or chat is usually more useful to visitors.
How do you set expectations for response time on a contact page?
State it plainly — a line like "we typically reply within one business day" reduces anxiety and follow-up emails far more effectively than leaving visitors to guess.
